Stitch Fix #11

I took a bit of a Stitch Fix break after the disappointment of a fix I received in January.  However, I had a few credits burning a hole in my account, so in March, I decided to request yet another fix, in hopes of some fresh, new, bright pieces for spring.

For this fix, I asked for a new pair of jeans.  Apparently, I've lost some weight this year and I feel like I'm constantly hiking up the other pairs I have.  A good problem to have, I guess!?  I also requested a pair of white skinny pants - not necessarily jeans, but something on the fitted side.  Beyond that, I asked them to surprise me with a few springy tops.

Item #1 | Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean ($88)
The requested pair of jeans.  Nothing too exciting or fancy here.  But they do fit a whole lot better in the waste.  Which means they cling to my hips a lot more.  (#bighipproblems)  However, because they are stretchy, they work.  These jeans are a little darker than I had hoped for, but a pair of jeans that fit nonetheless, so they were a keeper.

Verdict: Kept!

Item #2 | Kut from the Kloth Kate Boyfriend Jean ($78)
I requested a pair of white, skinny pants......and this is what I got.  White boyfriend jeans.  Skinny pants definitely do not equal boyfriend jeans in my book.  This is the third pair of boyfriend jeans I've received from SF and I've decided that I absolutely hate them on my body.  Please, please, please stop sending me boyfriend jeans!!!  They just don't work with me, end of story.

Verdict: Obvious return

Item #3 | Papermoon Bart Scoop Neck Blouse ($48)
This was a really pretty color and the photo actually does it some justice, but I wasn't feeling this top.  It was too short and too wide.  It was also shear, which I didn't love because it required a shirt underneath.  Just not my cup of tea.

Verdict: Returned

Item #4 | Papermoon Lonni Crochet Back Knit Tank ($38)
This top was more my style with the lace at the bottom and the more flowy fit to it.  However, I was hoping for tops with sleeves.....and I already have a similar-style navy blue tank top....and navy wasn't exactly the bright springy-ness I was hoping for.....and it was just a little too basic to justify SF prices anyway.  I did dislike it, but I didn't like it enough to keep.  Side note: I think the back had some lace, too.  I honestly can't remember because it's been about a month!

Verdict: Returned

Item #5 | Papermoon Paulette Lace Detail Blouse ($48)
My fifth item was this (another) sleeveless top.  However, this one was a lot more Stitch Fix worthy, in my opinion.  I love the floral pattern, love the lace at the top, and love that it is longer than most tops.  When I receive something like this that I'm less likely to find at Target, I can justify the SF prices a whole lot more.

Verdict: Kept

That's it for my eleventh fix.  I think I may call it quits with SF for awhile.  I do enjoy the surprises and I especially enjoy the clothes arriving on my front door, but  I haven't been overly pleased with my last few fixes as a whole.  And besides, my summer is only three and a half short weeks away, which means shorts, tees, and baseball caps for this girl.

  1. Love the jeans and top you kept. Yay for 3.5 weeks left of school!! That's so exciting.

  2. I really like the tank that you kept! It seems like a lot of the things in Stitch Fix boxes are pretty pricey which is one of the reasons I haven't done it. Plus I've seen most people don't like what they get overall, it seems. Did you see Karly from Miss in the Midwest and Kristen from See You in a Porridge review Golden Tote? That seemed like positive experiences in both!

  5. Such a bummer you've been so disappointed with SF lately! It's one of my guilty pleasures that I can't give up LOL.
Love the jeans you kept though and the top too! I did like the other tops you got but I do understand why you returned them.

  6. I understand what you mean about wanting things you can't just get at target. I haven't done stitch fix yet because of the costs of the items!

  7. I feel the same way about SF...such a mixed bag. I go from having great fixes but sizes are off...or having horrible fixes but feeling forced to keep one thing to not lose my $20. My greatest success has been with jeans/pants...but it's been a while since they've nailed my style. I had a really great stylist at one time and apparently if you want to keep that stylist you have to request them EVERY TIME which I would always forget..then forget that person's name. My last fix I got in March was awful...totally off and made me so mad. So I'm on a "break" with SF for now ;)

  8. I have such a mixed relationship with SF. I go from loving it to hating it. Lately I'm hating it. I could write a long drawn out post about it citing many of the same issues you seem to have gone through. What frustrates me is seeing other bloggers get the cutest stuff! They obviously get the best stylists/first dibs because they are popular bloggers. lame. I got a horrible fix in March and I was so fired up and ready to go off on my reviews but then my kids got sick and I never got the chance. I will say that the most success I've had with them is pants! So I guess that's something?!

  10. I also like the tank that you kept and I agree on the jeans (the ones you kept and they ones you sent back). This girl here is looking forward to summer also. It is gonna be so nice to take it easy in the closing department.

  11. I agree with you – boyfriend pants are not the same as skinny pants. While I think they look great on you, I just can’t pull them off. Love the floral top!

  14. I think the pieces you kept are amazing! Not sure if I like boyfriend jeans either I almost feel they make me look heavier in the thighs than I really am and no one needs that!

  15. I'm sorry you weren't thrilled with what you received. That's why I haven't tried it yet! I really like the way the yellow blouse looks but I hate when it doesn't fit as well as you hope!

  16. Love all the details of the top you kept!! And I'm with you--if a pair of jeans fit, I'll most likely keep them. We're counting down the days until summer fun in the neighborhood!!!

  17. Love that last tank on you! I have such a love/hate with Stitch Fix, but I typically have some credit to use, so I keep getting fixes!

  18. I love Item #5! Too bad the white jeans didn't work out cuz that top would look great with some white jeans. Good picks! :)

  19. I think you look great in everything - boyfriend jeans included!!
The last tank you kept is so cute! I've got my fingers crossed that something similar shows up in my next fix.

  20. I still love SF. Just can't quit! But, I think I've definitely discovered/decided that I like their fall/winter items much more than their spring/summer. Especially for the prices!
