Six Last Minute Gift Ideas Under $30

I did a similar post last year and it was way popular!  So here I go again - six last minute (ahem, Amazon Prime) gift ideas for under $30!

(affiliate links)

It's a blanket.  It's a scarf ($17.69).  And who couldn't use yet another of either?!  (Lots of color options available!)

I credit my husband for finding this cute wooden ring toss game ($29.99).  It could work in a basement, in a garage, or on a patio and would be a good gift for a guy or girl!

I know a few people who would love these socks ($12.95)!!

This appears to be a super fun party game ($29.99).  I'm definitely adding it to my wishlist!
The possibilities are endless with an Amazon Dot ($29.99).  You can play music, add to your shopping list, heck, ours even turns on and off our living room lamp (with a wifi-enabled smart plug anyway).  As silly as I once thought these were, I'm sort of loving ours!  But hurry--it's only this price for a limited time!

And finally, this long, open-front knit cardigan ($31.99).  And I lied.  It's technically over $30...but only by $2.  Looks so cozy and appears to get good reviews!

Happy last-minute shopping!

My Christmas Wishlist

Apparently this is the year of earrings, baseball caps, and sweatshirts--as sixty-plus percent of my wishlist falls into one of those three categories!  At any rate, seeing that no one buys me gifts except for my mom and we've already done Christmas with my parents, this list can double as my birthday list.  Which is exactly three weeks after Christmas. **Hint hint hubby**  (Craig and I don't do gifts at Christmastime; only stocking.)

Rhett's Christmas Wishlist

You know how hard it is to come up with gift ideas for a one-year old with two older brothers who have everything?!  Pretty dang hard.  It's even difficult to find toddler books we don't already have!  I rounded up a few ideas, but sadly, Rhett will be receiving fewer gifts than his brothers.

Gift Guide for 3 to 6 Year Old Boys

Also known as Brantley + Holden's 2017 wishlist.  Rather, the list Mom created because when asked, those same kids said they wanted, and I quote, rainbow shoes, a mario yo-yo (Amazon actually came through on that one), ski ball, and a Mario & Luigi soccer ball with a Jayhawk on it.  Huh!?  Where do they even come up with this stuff?  (Besides YouTube, of course.)

Anyway, if you're frantically trying to finish your shopping and you have a 3 to 6-year old boy to buy for, here are some ideas.  I'm about all gifting things that are a) educational b) quiet or c) something the entire family can do.  Heaven knows we don't need yet another cheap toy cluttering our floors!

Father's Day Gift Guide

One of my favorite posts to put together is this - a Father's Day gift guide!  It's no secret guys are tough to shop for, but I actually enjoy hunting the Internet for things guys would love and/or searching our house for things that I think other dads would appreciate.  If you're still in the market for the perfect Father's Day gift, here are some ideas!

Beer Bottle Opener - If the special dad in your life drinks beer and doesn't yet have one of these, buy one ASAP!  Guaranteed to be a hit at any party!

Extension Cord Winder - I bought this for my husband last Father's Day and he said it's the best thing I've ever given him!  If your husband/dad likes organization, he will love this!

Apple Watch - This is #1 on my husband's list!  It need not an explanation as anything Apple invents is sure to be amazing.

Smart Phone Car Mount  - This just makes sense if you use your phone for directions while driving.  Seems safer, too.

Rechargeable Crank Flashlight - This is like the Ferrari of flashlights!  Not only is it a waterproof, rechargeable (by cranking) flashlight, it's also a window breaker + seatbelt cutter + compass + USB charger + red light flasher!  Impressed yet?  I am!  It gets great reviews, too!  Buying one of these for myself!

Floozi - In all honesty, I'm not sure how we don't already have one of these in our life!  A floating koozi?  Yes, please!

Next Thermostat - Guys enjoy controlling things from their phones and this thermostat allows them to do just that.  We got one of these a year ago and at first, I wasn't convinced.  But adjusting the temperature from the comfort of your bed is as great as it sounds!  Plus, since the Nest is linked to your phone, it knows when you're not home and will adjust the temperature to save energy!  (This version in compatible with Amazon Alexa, which would be a another great gift idea!)

Custom Yeti - What's better than a Yeti?  I custom Yeti at no additional cost!  You can add a design (collegiate to coastal), monogram, or text to any style of Yeti!

Smart Suitcase - Have you seen these things?  Ummm amazing.  GPS allows you to track your suitcase anywhere in the world, a built-in scale will weight it, lock/unlock is controlled from your smartphone, and there is a port to charge your iPhone six times over.  The future is here, people.

Craft Beer Glass Set - Not nearly as impressive as the last idea, but a lot more budget friendly!  And beer just tastes better from a fancy glass!

How Do You Properly Thank a Daycare Provider?

I'm still not sure I know the right answer to that, but we certainly tried!  More on that below.  But first, let me explain.

We were referred to Ms. Stephanie five years ago.  I was pregnant with Brantley and Stephanie (and her in-home daycare) came highly recommended by one of my best co-workers, who had sent her son there the previous five(ish) years.  He, however, was headed to kindergarten that fall and we were in need of a spot for Brantley, who would be 3.5 months old, later that October.  We visited the daycare one summer afternoon, asked a few questions, and signed our names on the contract.  Her house was a good 15-minute drive from ours, but the referral was well worth the drive and then some!  In fact, we didn't even look elsewhere.

A year and a half later, we welcomed Holden into our life.  The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as Stephanie had a couple of kids going to kindergarten that fall, so Holden started with Stephanie in August of 2014, at just a few days shy of four months old.

Later that school year, we moved.  That meant a nice, new house in a fantastic neighborhood, but an even longer drive to daycare.  20 to 25 minutes to be exact...20 minimum without a lot of traffic, 25 or more during the rush hours.  Not a big deal for Craig, whose office is in that direction anyway, but the complete and utter opposite drive from my school.  Still worth it because our kids were comfortable there and honestly, it was easier than trying to find a new place for two kids.

When we knew of Rhett's existence, we looked briefly for a new spot for all three and put our name on a few waiting lists, but nothing panned out.  Stephanie didn't have a spot for him per se, but given it was only a few months (February through May), she made it work.  (She was still within state regulations.)  She may have had to buy a new van with an eighth seat, but she *claims* they were going to do that anyway.

Stephanie was truly the best.  She took the kids out on "field trips" all the time.  Open gym, Deanna Rose, Music with Mar, the library, the zoo, parks, McDonalds, Sonic, Target, Sesame Street Live, and so many more places I'm likely forgetting.  She invited activities into her home - the gym bus and Stretch & Grow to name two.  She hosted "Parent Cafes" on the weekends to gather all the parents together.  She transported Brantley to and from preschool two and three days per week for two full school years.  She even had a special Dollar Tree birthday tradition - the birthday kid got to pick two things; the rest of her crew got to pick one each.

To say our boys loved it there would be a huge understatement.  It was and is literally all they have ever known.  Stephanie was like a second mommy to each of them and loved and raised our three boys as her own.  Our boys made their first friends at Stephanie's (Ellie, Jordan, and William for Brantley, Jace, Jack, and Owen for Holden, Baby Chase for Rhett) and by the time we parted ways with Stefunny's Daycare, our trio were three of Stephanie's seven and a half kids....all boys!  (I say a half because Drew was only part time.)

With both boys headed to preschool next year, we decided to look for some new options closer to our home.  Within a few weeks of actively looking earlier this spring, they were officially signed up for a full-time preschool about five minutes from our house, while Rhett will be headed to a new in-home daycare (or a new "Ms. Stephanie's" as Rhett says...her name is Laura) that is literally a few blocks from their preschool.  Truly like both were meant to be.  But of course, that means leaving our beloved Ms. Stephanie's.

So as I was saying, how do you adequately thank someone who has done so much for you and your family for five years?  Someone who exceeded our wildest daycare dreams and someone who loved and kept our three children safe for five whole years?  With a large chunk of change, of course, but I also wanted to give her something meaningful, something sentimental, and something the boys had a hand in making.  So we put together this bouquet of flowers inside a hand-painted mason jar vase and some personalized DIY coasters.

For the vase, I painted a mason jar with acrylic paint, printed a black and white photo on regular printer paper, and mod podged the photo to the vase. I also painted some mod podge over the photo to preserve it and protect it from any water drips.

I found the coasters on Pinterest a la this pin, but made my own templates instead of using hers.  I had the boys each color on one template (download a blank template here), traced Rhett's hand on one (since he's obviously not old enough to write), designed some stick figures on another with their names underneath each figure, and copied and pasted some poems on the last two (download poem templates here).  The poems may or may not have made me cry. 😉  I printed the templates on printer paper and used mod podge to attach to the coasters, which are 4x4 tiles from Home Depot.  Once again, I added mod podge over the papers, as well, to protect the designs and I also sealed the coasters with Krylon Preserve It spray.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

So if you're looking for the perfect gift for your daycare provider, teacher, or even a DIY gift for Father's Day, steal away!

And Ms. Stephanie, if when you read this (because I know you will!), please know how very special you are to the five of us.  I wish Rhett could get to know you as the other boys have, but three months with you is better than none!  I know we've already professed our love and admiration for you and your daycare, but once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving our boys, teaching them, protecting them, and raising them as your own. We will make sure the boys never, ever forgot you, your family, or the special time they shared with you!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is only ten days away!  Here are a few things I wouldn't mind receiving. *wink wink*

iPhone 7 Plus - In reality, I'm not eligible for a new phone for another two months, unless I basically want to hand over my current phone to Apple.  Or I could wait two months, sell it to a third party and pocket the change, which is obviously what I'll do.  Womp womp.  I'm so ready for a new phone with a better camera, however!  And rose gold fo sho!!!!!

Nickel & Suede Earrings - One can never have too many pairs of these lightweight, leather earrings!  Most of my existing pairs are neutral colored, so I'm ready for a pair that really stands out, like these!

Mama Necklace - I'm in desperate need of a new bar necklace that accurately displays all three of my kiddos names!  I scoured Etsy for a rose-gold necklace long enough to fit the names Brantley - Holden - Rhett and came up with this amazing shop!  Bonus: The bar can be engraved on both sides--sounds about perfect for a wedding anniversary!  This may or may not be on its way to my mailbox as I type. 😉

New Camera Strap - I could also use a new one of these for my DSLR camera.  Mine is old, dirty, and besides, the chevron ship has been sailed. #givemealltheflorals

Granata Birkenstocks - This makes me feel like I'm back in fifth grade when I wanted a pair of leather sandals "with the two straps".  Pretty sure my mom bought me a pair of knockoffs from Walmart and pretty sure I'll do the same (but Target) 25 years later!  I love this style of Birks.  Surely, Target will come out with a similar pair because I've heard nothing but amazing things about this pair of knockoffs!

Hobo Lauren Leather Wallet - I came thisclose to buying this for myself when my friend Vanessa posted about it on the HowDoesShe SAVE facebook page.  But I didn't.  And now I'm wishing I would have.

Mommy & Me Mini Session - And finally, this.  Probably my most wished for gift after the new mama necklace.  It's no secret I'm photo-obsessed.  We always take family pictures each fall, but it's usually a stressful situation as is - hubby hates photos, the boys have a limited attention span, we already squeeze in family + brothers + individual kids photos, etc. etc. etc.  Point being, I'm never in the right frame of mind to ask for a few photos of just me and my boys, but it is something I would absolutely love to have done.  Plus, springtime, green, flowers, etc!!!!!  Maybe I'll just go ahead and gift that to myself this summer, we'll see.

What is on your Mother's Day wishlist this year?

Holden's 3rd Birthday Wishlist

In just 11 short days, my middle child will be three whole years old!  As cliche as it sounds, that just doesn't seem possible!  I always struggle to come up with gift ideas for Holden.  One, because he likes whatever his brother likes.  He wants whatever his brother wants.  And two, we already have all. the. things.  Nonetheless, I rounded up a few ideas/plans for his third birthday!

Kids ATV Ride On 4-Wheeler - Yes, we got the boys a Powerwheel truck as a joint Christmas gift a couple of years ago.  But Brantley usually highjacks it and Holden enjoys driving the neighbors' smaller Powerwheels anyway.  This one is a little smaller than our truck, but is recommended up to age 6 so I feel like we can still get plenty of use out of it.  And the price is much better than the price of some of the bigger Powerwheels!  (There's an even better price on the 6V version here.)

Dueling Stomp Rocket - We had a stomp rocket and both boys loved it.  However, some parts are broken, other parts are lost.  This dueling version looks to be a good replacement as it may eliminate the need for the boys to fight over who gets to play with it!

Melissa & Doug Pattern Blocks & Boards - I actually bought this during a Melissa & Doug sale at Christmastime and have been saving it for his birthday.  These things remind me of tangrams and math teachers love tangrams!  And you can never go wrong with M&D!

Youth KU Baseball Cap - We've got every other team covered, but Holden is lacking a Jayhawk baseball cap.

Wooden Toy Ukulele - A couple of our neighbors have toys similar to this and Holden loves them!  In fact, he has a blow up guitar he always "plays" but there's a hole in it so it deflates quicker than we can air it up!  I know he would love one of these!

Toy Drum Set - A few weeks ago, Craig asked Holden what he wanted for his birthday.  Holden didn't know so Craig suggested some drums.  And now whenever his birthday comes up, he insists on wanting some drums.  Go figure.  (Craig, next time how about you suggest something a lot quieter, mmmmmkay?)

Assorted Anti-Slip Socks - I'm a plain Jane.  I always pick out white socks for the boys, but Holden adores anything but white socks.  This looks like a fun set for toddler boys!

Football Guys - And finally, these Iowa Hawkeye football guys.  As much as I'd love something without a million pieces, I know Holden would love playing with these!

Any other suggestions for a 3-year old?  Send them my way, if so!

5 Last-Minute Gift Ideas Under $50 (Most Under $30)

You guys, Christmas is only ten days away!  December has flown exceptionally fast for me.  Something about having a newborn, perhaps?!  Anyway, if you're still struggling to find the perfect gift, here are a few suggestions!  As always, Amazon Prime to the rescue!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

I just ordered this essential oil diffuser ($29.95) last week after getting tired of carrying my one diffuser up and down the stairs (I know, #firstworldproblems) and I love it!

Not only is this tassel key chain ($14.99) adorable, but it includes a USB plug in and portable charger for both an iPhone and Android phone!  I need this in my life.

How cute is this hanging succulent planter ($24.99)?  Trying to figure how where I could hang it to justify buying it. ;)

I've been using one of these wireless memory cards ($49) for just under a year now and I couldn't love it any more!  Quickly, easily, and wirelessly transfer photos from your camera to your device for easy social media sharing!

These faux fur slippers ($12.99) are adorable (that flower!) and look just as comfy!  I'll take a few pairs, please!

Want-Need-Wear-Read 2016

Like last year, we are sticking with the want-need-wear-read rule when it comes to Christmas gifts for our kids.  We already have toys galore and I'm all about keeping it simple.  As I mentioned in this previous post, the older boys' lists are very similar, which made shopping a bit easier.  As for Rhett, I planned on getting him a couple of books and nothing else, but then I started to feel bad (I mean, what's he going to think when he reads this post in 15 years?! 😐) so I added a few things to my Amazon cart and decided to get him a need gift to match the others.  Here's a peak at what each of our boys will be getting this year.

Brantley

Gas Out Game - I mentioned how big of a hit this game was when we gifted it at a birthday party last month.  I have a feeling it's going to be a house-favorite among all of the Sides boys...even the 38-year old!

Coleman Kids Sleeping Bag - I already can't wait for next summer when they can use these in our tent in the backyard!  In the meantime, perhaps we can have a winter camp out in our living room!

Iowa Baseball Cap and "Big" Socks - Both boys have outgrown their current Iowa caps and Brantley has been obsessing over "big socks" lately.

The Fort that Jack Built and Mix It Up - The first book was recommended by a blog friend in a recent post (thanks Colleen!) and the second, written by the same author as a house favorite of ours, will surely be a hit since Brantley has been super interested lately in knowing what color is made when mixing two others.

Holden

Melissa & Doug Monster Plush Bowling Set  - This has been on my list for Holden for months...I think it's the cutest!  And now maybe they'll stop asking for plastic cups to bowl with?

Coleman Kids Sleeping Bag - Same story as above.

Iowa Baseball Cap and "Big" Socks - I told you it was easy when your boys have the same interests!

Dragons Love Tacos and Let's Play - Holden needs some big boy books and both of these get great reviews on Amazon.

Rhett

Manhattan Toy Baby Beads Wooden Rattle & Teether - Totally guessing on what he wants 😉 but seeing that we already have all the baby toys, I thought this may be a nice alternative.

Coleman Kids Sleeping Bag - Might as well get one to match the other boys', right?!

Goumiboots Soft Stay On Booties and Carters Baby Joggers - Confession: We didn't put shoes (or socks) on our other boys' feet for months into their lives.  (You can do that with July and April babies.)  But seeing that it's December and people will judge us big time if our baby goes barefoot, I ordered these booties from Amazon.  They are supposed to grow with your child's feet and get good reviews.  And the joggers?  Well, I'm pretty much obsessed with joggers and they will pair nicely with all of the onesies we have, that again, our kids wore with nothing else throughout their early months in the summer!  And duh - Amazon prime of both of these items sealed the deal.

My Very First Book of Colors and Where is Baby's Belly Button? - I love me some Eric Carle books and the one about belly buttons looks adorable!

Oh, and I can't forget their big Santa gift this year.  This 6-foot canvas teepee.

Do you follow the want-need-wear-read rule?  I would love to know what your kids are getting!

DIY Money Tree

Today I'm excited to be teaming up with a handful of my favorite blogger friends and we're sharing all kinds of DIY gift basket ideas.  Mine is technically not a basket, but a something you can quickly and easily throw together that would make for a perfect gift for a teacher, daycare provider, or possibly even your mailman who delivered all of your Christmas packages. ;)

All you need is a small artificial Christmas tree (options here and here), money/gift card envelopes (here) or mini stockings (options here and here), some red cardstock, scissors, a sharpie, and a pencil.

Start by tracing your child's hand print onto the red cardstock.  Cut it out, write their name on it with the sharpie, and stick it in the branches of the tree.  Fill the stockings or envelopes with money and stick those in the tree, as well.  And that's it!

I love this idea because it can be easily customized.  You can do cash or gift cards.  You can add small ornaments, if you'd like.  And it can be given by a single child/family (fill each stocking with a smaller amount), or you can team up with a classroom full of kids (one stocking per kid; the amount of money could be at their discretion).  This idea is just so much cuter and more festive than adding said money to a card--and the tree will double as decor after the fact!

This is what we gave our daycare provider last year and not only was it super cute with all the kids' hand prints, but we added an ornament to represent each child.  (For instance, my boys ornaments were sports-related.  Another boy's was a mini Lightning McQueen.)

My Christmas List + a HUGE Stitch Fix Giveaway

I always enjoy putting together my Christmas wishlist.  Perhaps it's just me, but I never seem to struggle with finding things I want! 😉  I also get lots of ideas from other bloggers' gift guides, so perhaps that's why I find these lists so much fun!  At any rate, I would not be sad to find a few of these things under our tree on Christmas morning.

Sperry Duck Boots - Confession: I had never heard of duck boots until just a few weeks ago when I saw them featured on a few blogs I follow!  And it was precisely then when I decided I need a pair!

BP Square Stud Earrings - Seriously two pair of earrings for under $10?!  I love the pink and gold, but at that price, I'll take all of the color combos!!

Dainty Silver Slide Bracelet - Not only is this an adorable bracelet, but it doubles as an essential oil diffuser!  Ummmm yes please!  My only wish is that the metal was gold instead of silver.

Johnny Apple Peeler - You know you're old when your Christmas list contains an apple peeler!  In all honesty, at only $20 I could buy one myself, but why when family is always asking for ideas!?

UV Nail Lamp - So my neighbor Ali has a UV nail lamp.  She is constantly giving all of us gel manis and not only does the polish last longer, but it looks so much better than regular nail polish (and there's no waiting for the polish to dry).  Her lamp was $100+, but this one with decent reviews is under $40!

xKCx Dad Hat - I have wanted one of these KC hats since last summer, and even tried to buy one on multiple occasions only to learn they were out of stock.  Need one of these ASAP.  (I also love the denim version...I will gladly take one of each please!)

Portable Charger - My phone is not even two years old, but it can't seem to make it through the day without charging two or three times!  I am intrigued by the Mophie case + battery pack, but I'm worried about giving up the protection of my Otterbox.  (Last time I went without an Otterbox I shattered my screen.)  This $13 portable charger seems to be a fine alternative and could easily be stored in my purse.

Veggetti Spiral Vegetable Slicer - Zoodles (zucchini noodles) are all the rage right and they sound like something right up my alley!  I really want to give them a try, but first, I need a veggie slicer!

Rib Knit Fringe Scarf - One can never have too many scarves!  I loooooove the fringe on this one and love its neutral color.

Classic Dianne Shirt Extender - When my friend and fellow blogger, Vanessa, posted about these last summer, I knew instantly I wanted one!  Unfortunately, the style I want (the off-white asymmetrical) is sold out, but perhaps they'll be restocked soon?

Nickle & Suede Earrings - I have a few pairs of leather earrings and I love them!  I love the texture/pattern of this pair, but I'd pretty much take any pair!

Stitch Fix Gift Cards - And finally, gift cards!!!  After taking a Stitch Fix break while pregnant (except for one maternity box), I'm ready to partake in this fun service again!  In fact, I already have a fix scheduled for January and I'm excited to shop normal clothes once again!  But of course, buying clothes is always more fun when you're spending someone else's money!

Speaking of, I'm giving away a pretty significant Stitch Fix gift card along with a handful of other bloggers!!  This would sure make for a fabulous Christmas gift and I'm slightly jealous I can't win it myself!!  Pretty sure it would make not only my Christmas, but my entire year!!  Enter via the Rafflecopter below and best of luck!!

Dear Santa, Love Brantley & Holden

This year, the boys have very similar Christmas lists.  At 2 and 4 years old, they have very similar interests - mainly sports, sports, sports - and Holden just wants to do anything and everything his older brother does!  Brantley definitely has a few opinions as to what he wants Santa to bring him, but I also had fun scouring the Internet for some ideas, too!

Franklin Sports Indoor Hockey Set - Like I said, sports, sports, sports!  I have no idea how either kid even knows much about hockey, but both do and both are obsessed.  This indoor hockey set has great reviews...though I think I may mandate it's a basement-only indoor toy in our house!

Youth/Toddler Golf Club Set - Again, any and all things-sports = two happy boys.  Nothing seems cuter than a toddler-sized set of golf clubs, am I right?!

Play Canvas Teepee - This is one toy I might not mind hanging around our dining room 24/7.  Ummmm...cute!  And I can only imagine how much fun it could provide in the coming winter months.  Not to mention, Brantley just finished a Native American unit at preschool!  Perhaps this will be their big Santa gift??

"Big" Socks - Funny story...we got "Boo'ed" (Halloween style) this year by some neighbors.  Included in our "boo" goodies were calf-high Halloween socks.  Brantley adores his and wants to wear his "big socks" all. the. time.  You know, because that's what the soccer players wear.  So instead of sporting his pumpkin-themed "big socks" come February, he needs a few new pairs.  These are definitely the dump-truck-puzzle of gifts this year (i.e. the gift he's going to be most disappointed if he doesn't get!).

3-in-1 Sports Net Set - Again, sports.  And three-in-one: volleyball, badminton, and tennis.  It's a no-brainer!

Goodnight Hockey Book - We have the baseball and football versions of this book and the boys love both of them!  They have a nice rhyme/rhythm to them and even I secretly love when they choose those books at bedtime!  I imagine this hockey version is no different!

Football Guys - Although toys with multiple small parts can be beyond annoying (#alloverthefloor), these mini Iowa Hawkeyes are just too cute to pass up!

Yumbox - Although we're not yet to the point of taking lunches to school everyday, I love these compartmentalized lunch boxes!  And love that it's a more practical gift than another toy.

Melissa & Doug Scissor Skill and Tape Activity Books - I think both boys would enjoy these scissor and tape activity books.  And they might allow for 30 minutes 10 minutes of quiet time, which may be necessary with a new baby.  Plus Melissa and Doug!!  (I think they'd really like this reusable sticker book, too!)

Iowa Baseball Cap - Both boys have outgrown their Iowa Hawkeye baseball caps and they are not easy to find in KC.  Sounds like the perfect gift for one of our Iowa family members!

Gas Out Game - Have you guys seen this??  Brantley found it at Target last month and insisted we buy it as a birthday gift for a daycare friend.  Needless to say, it was a pretty big hit at the birthday party--and neither Brantley nor Holden could get enough of the fart noises before we wrapped it for the birthday boy.  And since I'm a #boymomforlife, I went ahead and bought one - the one and only gift I have purchased at this point!

Youth Sleeping Bag - Though we've never been camping as a family, it's something we've always talked about doing.  Whether we go legit camping or camping in our backyard, a sleeping bag is a good {practical} gift that would be nice to have in the years to come!

Youth Fishing Pole - My dad's #1 hobby is fishing...and we live caddy corner from a lake.  Obviously the boys need their own fishing poles for fishing trips with Papa and/or Daddy.  This one can be used to catch real fish, sponge fish, or just practice casting.

Superhero Capes - We sent these superhero capes to our partner in the Summer Birthday Gift Exchange last summer...and then I promptly added them to the boys' Christmas lists!  They are adorable and with three boys, I have a feeling they would get lots of good use!

So there you have it!  A few ideas for our boys...and who knows, maybe some ideas for the sports-obsessed toddler in your life!  I'll be back later this month sharing my own Christmas list...and giving away a pretty significant gift card with a handful of other bloggers.  Stay tuned...
