Chili (Bloody Mary Style)

Here's a great chili recipe I use from my parents' neighbor Mike.

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 to 1 lb. sausage
Worcestershire sauce
Salt to taste
1 can chili beans
1 can black beans
1 can diced tomato
1 liter bottle Bloody Mary mix (my favorite is the Mr. & Mrs. T's Bold & Spicy)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp instant coffee
1/2 onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
1 large can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp cilantro
chili powder (start w/ 1/2 Tbsp, add more to taste)
hot sauce to taste

Brown meat with Worcestershire sauce and seasoning salt.  Drain and add to crock pot.  Add everything else and cook for 6 to 8 hours on low.  Serve with sour cream, hot sauce, fritos, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Pair with some corn bread and you have the perfect snowy night meal!!

Random thought about cornbread.  I like mine with butter and syrup.  I promise, it's sooooo good!  (Craig agrees.)  But I've never seen anyone else do that.  Is that just a weird Fritz tradition??
