My Big 2-9

Yesterday was my big 2-9 birthday.  One more year til the big one!  I think I mentioned this last year, but turning 30 doesn't really freak me out.  It's just a number, after all, and who cares, as long as you feel good!  I personally enjoy getting older.  I'm so much happier now than I was ten years ago.  Life is a thousand times more enjoyable with a husband, a house, a dog, and an income.

I have decided to steal my friend Katie's idea and {try to} take one picture everyday in these last 366 days of my twenties (it's a leap year--hence the 366).  She made the coolest scrapbook with her photos and I plan to do the same!  We'll see how that goes...

My birthday was very low-key.  We didn't do anything special to celebrate, but it was a great day nonetheless!  Not the mention, the nicest weather on my birthday I ever remember!  65 degrees and sun?  Yes, please!  Absolutely amazing for January 15!

The day started with a yummy homemade breakfast sandwich...bacon, egg, tomato, and avocado on sourdough.  I stole the idea from Pinterest.  It's definitely a keeper!   Doesn't the picture just make you drool?

Then, I opened my gifts from the hubs and schnauz.  Oh wait, maybe that was Saturday night.  We suck at waiting for things.  I got some K-cups, a scarf hanger, a belt hanger, and an Iowa cap (all things I wanted).

Then, we headed out for some errands.  But first, a stop at my favorite sub place, Firehouse, for a free birthday lunch sub!  Can't beat that!  We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for baby furniture!  We compared prices and cribs at Nebraska Furniture Mart, USA Baby, and BuyBuy Baby.  We agreed on what we liked (and didn't like), took some photos, and jotted down prices.  We didn't plan to buy anything yesterday; it was more so a trip to get ideas.  Now, we just need to make some decisions and go back and buy.  Who knew baby furniture was so freakin' expensive??

My birthday dinner consisted of my favorite homemade fish taco recipe.  Yummy!  (We went to dinner Friday night, so I didn't see the need to go again last night.)

And that is how we celebrated the last major milestone of my twenties!  Like I said, low key, but still a perfect day!  I am really looking forward to everything 29 has to offer!  It's going to be a great year!
