Cali Bachelorette Weekend

I'm back. And I survived.  And I had a fantabulous time.  And I'm so glad I went.  What a fun weekend it was!  I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my friend, Katie.  She was the weekend's guest of honor.  Also known as the bachelorette.  Also known as the future Mrs. Betts!

I met Katie in 2009.  We met online.  No seriously, we really did!  We met through meetup.com, a website where you can find practically anyone with interests similar to yours.  The hubs and I were looking for some couple friends.  He had his guy friends and I had my girl friends, but we didn't have anyone to hang out with as a couple.  So anyway, we met Katie and her then-boyfriend.  Well, things didn't work between those two, but Katie soon met her knight-in-shining-armour.  And now they're engaged to be married in October.  Hence, the bachelorette party weekend.  (I took their amateur engagement photos last January, remember?)

Katie moved to KC from California, but is originally from Iowa.  And she's a big Iowa hawkeye fan, like myself.  She also teaches elementary school in my district.  But she was hired after we knew each other.  Random.

Anyway, onto our weekend.  There were eight of us - four Cali girls and four that traveled from KC.  Well, eight on day 1.  We lost a Cali girl on day 2 because of prior arrangements.

Day 1 activities included: breakfast on the beach, a day at the spa, and a sushi dinner at RA.

Day 2 activities consisted of wine tasting at four different wineries, a picnic at winery #2, and dinner/games back at the house.

Thank you, Katie, for getting married and allowing us the excuse to get away!  And a special thanks to both Lauren, for planning an awesome (and super organized) weekend getaway, and Joanna (and your parents) for the (free) place to stay!  See you girls in October!

    1. Of course they are! Do you expect anything different from me? :) But they're old. Like two or three years ago-Target.

  4. Looks like you had a lot of fun!! I've heard Temecula County has some good wineries for southern CA. I'd LOVE to have a girl's weekend like that! Love that you met your friend online, funny but makes for a cute story too! Pretty cool that you got a good friend out of it!
