We just returned from our 3.5-day babymoon to San Diego. Though the weather was better here than there, we had a great time visiting friends and exploring a new city. Among the highlights: Coronado Island, the Gaslamp District, Sea World, and a day trip to the Hollywood/LA area. Oh, and the million yummy meals we had...good thing I'm pregnant and have excuse to gain weight because I'm pretty sure I packed on about five pounds in three days! Like I said earlier, the weather was cool (mid 60s...I consider that slightly on the cold side), but the sun still shined brightly and I managed to get a bit of a sunburn on my winter-white skin! Here are some photos of our trip!
Day 1: We ventured north to the LA area - checked out Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Rodeo Drive...something Sarah and I have talked about doing since our addiction to Beverly Hills 90210 in high school! No celeb-sightings unfortunately, and I was slightly disappointed that Jessica Simpson doesn't have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but still exciting to see the area! After heading back to the SD area, we had a yummy Mexican dinner and visited a beach in (I think) Carlsbad.

High school besties! |
Day 2: Back to work for Sarah and JC, so Craig and I rented a car and spent the day at Sea World, the Gaslamp district, and stopping at a few beach towns along the coast.

Randomly came across this Iowa bar in Mission Beach! |
Day 3: Sarah took the day off work to play tourist with us. She showed us around Coronado Island, a cute, little island just off the coast of San Diego. We enjoyed some drinks on the patio of Hotel Del Coronado and had a yummy lunch before heading back to the airport.

No worries--my mojito was non-alcoholic :) |
Unfortunately, that is probably our last trip before the arrival of Baby Sides! We have traveled a lot over the last year and a half and I feel very lucky to have done so! However, I am already dreaming about where I'd like to go next for Baby's first big vacation!
