We hosted a fantastic NYE party last night. Including us, there were thirteen people here...not too big, not too small, just perfect! I'm pretty sure a fun time was had by all! In my opinion, one of the best things about a party is the food. So for part one of this blog post will be a few party recipes you might enjoy. Part two will consist of some pictures from our crazy night.
Bacon-Wrapped Cream Cheese Stuffed Jalapenos
15 jalapenos (when cut in half, makes 30)
2 pkg cream cheese
1 pkg bacon - each slice cut in half
30 toothpicks
Cut jalapenos in half and clean out. If you like them hotter, leave some seeds. Stuff with as much cream cheese as possible and wrap with a half slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick. Cook in preheated oven at 350 for about an hour or until desired crispiness.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue
1 cup Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
In heavy saucepan, cook and stir the chocolate chips, sugar, milk, and peanut butter over low heat until smooth. Transfer to a fondue pot and keep warm (if you don't have a fondue pot, just leave it in the saucepan to dip!). Serve with dippers such as strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, pound cake, rice crispy treats, marshmallows, graham crackers, pretzels.
Tip: Stick toothpicks in all the dippers so you can grab a piece, dip it, and go!
Jello Shots
(Okay, okay, most of you probably don't want or need this recipe. But I'm going to type it incase I need to refer back to it someday!)
1 box jello, any flavor
1 cup boiling water
1 cup alcohol (Rum, Vodka, Schnapps...flavored vodka works well)
12 plastic shot glasses (you can find 3 oz. glasses at Target or sometimes in the bathroom section at stores)
