Star Spangled Kids 2016

First of all, did anyone besides Brittany catch my typo in last week's Star Spangled Kids announcement post?  I accidentally titled it Star Spankled Kids instead!  It has since been corrected (thanks, Brittany!), but you're welcome for that extra little laugh this morning.

Now for the photos.  Let's just say, this little session did not go well.  I couldn't find our hand held flags, the boys wouldn't leave their straws in their water bottles, and despite the bribery, neither one would cooperate for even ten seconds for a photo.  Neighbors probably thought I was some crazy lunatic of a mom pleading with my kids to take one decent photo.  Or maybe I am.  Anyway, I'm not sure where this photo even came from because I'm pretty sure these were not my boys that day!  Must be some Independence Day miracle on 96th street.

As for our weekend plans, my parents will be in town to celebrate Brantley's 4th birthday.  They are leaving on Sunday night, but we have plans with neighbors to attend a 4th of July parade on Monday morning, spend the day at the pool, and then do a shrimp boil and fireworks that night.  I can't wait for all the festiveness!!

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing everyone in their red, white, and blue!  Link up below (between now and July 7) and don't forget to tag your photos on Instagram using the hashtag #StarSpangledKids!

Have a safe and happy holiday weekend, friends!!

  1. OMG! They are so stinking cute!! I just want to hug them both, which they would find really weird since they don't know me. Ha ha! Yay for your parents coming into town. That'll be so much fun. Have a great weekend!

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only crazy mama trying to get one good picture. I swear I bribe with any and everything Jack loves and he still refuses! It makes me so mad and then I realize it's just a picture and I need to calm myself down haha. These turned out sweet!! Have a happy fourth!

  3. Oh I'm always the crazy lunatic trying to do anything to get my kids to take a decent pic!! Yours turned out so cute even if they wouldn't let go of those straws :)

  6. Star Spankled Kids! So funny. I totally missed that. But, it’s hilarious and I love it. And I am right there with you…Mason did NOT want to take photos. Luckily he had some stars and stripes swim trunks and I thought of the little splashpad. That was the only way I could get photos! I love the photos you got! It is real life right now with boys! And they are precious!! I love those little star drink things. Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend friend!
