We normally try to go to a KU football game once each fall. We're only about 25 minutes from Lawrence and it's pretty easy (and cheap) to get tickets for our family of four. (Translation: KU is not very good at football.) We also tend to go during the month of September - before the weather cools down too much and the craziness of pumpkin patch season hits. This weekend we packed up our gear, along with our KU-fan neighbors, and headed to Lawrence for some good ole fall fun. Our normal tailgate spot is only a block from the stadium, with one of Craig's co-workers. They are so welcoming to both us and our crew of neighbors! And bonus: I'm a big fan of that spot because they usually play the Iowa game on one of their t.v.s! (Although this year, Iowa played later in the evening and we were home by game time.) The KU game this year left much to be desired. Let's just say the best part was the $5 freshly-squeezed lemonade I bought. Brantley didn't seem to mind though. That kid is sports-obsessed, I tell ya. Win or lose, we still had a great weekend, as we always do with our crew of neighbors!
Awww...that looks like so much fun. Good or not there's something about football with friends and family. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha I laughed out loud at your translation of KU not being good, LOL! Looks like a fun family day!
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys do so much with your neighbors. You truly hit the lotto when it comes to neighbors and neighborhood! I love how much Brantley loves sports. We want to take Mason to a college football game sometime. We’re not too far from Baylor University. However, prices seem to have gone up a ton since they built the new stadium. Funny how that happens! Ha. Cute pictures!!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures! Too bad the team isn't very good!
ReplyDeleteThat's why we went to the baseball. It was like five bucks. No pressure to make the most of expensive tickets. The local college has a new football team too, I bet that would be cheap =)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! After this past weekend Wyatt is asking to go to a game. We may start with a HS game and see how that goes first! ;) My cousin was a Jayhawk so I love seeing y'all in places I'm familiar!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! They look like they had a blast!
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures!!! So glad they boys had so much fun and you guys- love your adorable belly in the family shot 👍🏻. Hopefully we can get to a game together this year!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, such cute lil fellas you have. Looks like a whole lot of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you picked the best weekend weather wise to go! Looks like your boys loved it :) One of my friends from HS went to KU and the year I turned 21 I went to the Neb KU game with her...she lived on some street that was just down from the stadium and the party scene was nuts...everyone was out in their yards! I don't remember much of the game but I know it was fun...and Nebraska won ;)
ReplyDeleteKU and ISU are along the same lines in terms of being good... BUT. Tailgating for the win!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a good time! We miss tailgating so much. It's so bad and boring out here. The Midwest knows how to tailgate!
